Patrologia Latina
Patrologia Latina 221 vols. ed. J.P. Migne (1844–1855) Goes up to AD 1200
at mlat.uzh.ch Digitized & searchable
Intro
This is the standard, older, nearly exhaustive edition of the Latin Fathers. The editor, Migne (1800–1875) was a French, Romanist, priest and scholar. The series goes up to 1200 AD, right before the major Summas and commentaries thereon were published in the 13th century. Some later commentaries or documents associated with earlier works are included. The volumes are in roughly chronological order. Some non-ecclesiastical writings are included, such as have literary, historical or linguistic interest.
Some of the writings of the Fathers have still been printed nowhere else. There is a need for modern criticial editions of each of the works in this series, which contemporary publishers have been attempting to complete.
Together the PL & PG make up the whole Patrologiae Cursus Completus published by Migne. For further background info, see Wikipedia.

Helpful individual indices are at the back of each volume in the series.
Many more helpful indices are in the last four volumes of the series (see the tables of contents to each): 218, 219, 220, 221. The first is full of general indices, the last three are special indices.
Here is an Index to key Latin words in a smaller set of writings of the fathers. The reference 1 Clem. 4:10, for example, refers to 1 Clement, chapter 4 in any edition of 1 Clement. The 10 refers to the ‘verse’ of an antiquated edition and may be disregarded.

Corpus Scriptorum Ecclesiasticorum Latinorum
at mlat.uzh.ch Digitized & searchable
Intro
The CSEL began in 1864 and continues to publish critical-text edition, Latin writings of Christian authors from the late 2nd century (Tertullian) until the beginning of the 8th century (Bede the Venerable, †735). In 2020 the series had around a hundred volumes, some with multiple sub-volumes.
“These volumes have replaced about a third of J. P. Migne’s Patrologia Latina, which do not offer critical editions. Some CSEL volumes have themselves been replaced by more recent critical editions (e.g., Corpus Christianorum Series Latina, Sources Chrétiennes, Bibliothèque Augustinienne), but about two-thirds of them are still considered authoritative standard editions; in fact, the CSEL edition often remains the only critical edition of a given text… [some] patristic texts which were previously thought lost have been recovered: e.g., the writings of the Spanish heretic Priscillian, the commentary on Revelation by Victorinus of Pettau, 29 unknown letters of Augustine (“Epistulae Divjak”), six of Augustine’s sermons (“Sermones Erfurt”), and the full text of the commentary on the gospels by Fortunatianus of Aquileia (mid-4th century…).” – Wikipedia

Library of Latin Texts (LTT)
This database, continuing to be developed, is of Latin texts from antiquity up to the present day. Unlike similar initiatives, like Corpus Corporum and The Latin Library, the LLT is not an open-access database. This allows for the inclusion of copyrighted editions based on the latest research.
“The texts edited in Brepols’ Corpus Christianorum series form the core of the LLT, even though numerically, they are outnumbered by texts edited in other publishers’ series and, if no modern edition is available, by out-of-copyright editions. Nevertheless, for scholarly purposes, the LLT should be used in conjunction with the printed editions, as the critical apparatus is not included in the database.” – Wikipedia

Patrologia Graeca
Patrologia Graeca 161 vols. ed. J.P. Migne (1857-1866) Goes up to AD 800
Intro
This is the older, standard, mostly exhaustive edition of the early Church fathers that wrote in Greek. The volumes are in roughly chronological order. The volumes are mostly double-columned, one column with the Greek, and one column with a Latin translation.
Wikipedia: “Though scholars have always criticised them [both PL & PG], these hastily edited, inexpensive, and widely distributed texts have only slowly been replaced during a century and a half with more critically edited modern editions …the scope of the Patrologia still makes it unique and valuable, when modern editions do not yet exist. It is a far more complete collection of Patristic and later literature than anything that has appeared subsequently or is likely to. To create so much so quickly, Migne reprinted the best or latest earlier editions available to him. In the PG the Latin translations were often made in the renaissance before any Greek text had been printed, and so do not necessarily match the Greek text [subsequently inputed] very accurately.”
Wikipedia: “It includes both the Eastern Fathers and those Western authors who wrote before Latin became predominant in the Western Church in the 3rd century, e.g. the early writings collectively known as the Apostolic Fathers, such as the First and Second Epistle of Clement, the Shepherd of Hermas, Eusebius, Origen, and the Cappadocian Fathers Basil the Great, Gregory of Nazianzus, and Gregory of Nyssa.
The 161 volumes are bound as 166 (vols. 16 and 87 being in three parts and vol. 86 in two)… In 1912, Garnier Frères, Paris, published a Patrologia Graeca index volume, edited by Ferdinand Cavallera.”
PG is being reprinted, volume by volume, by the Centre for Patristic Publication. The volumes may be obtained through PatrologiaGraeca.org.

Patrologia Orientalis
Intro
This ongoing series (56 vols. in 2016) attempts to do what the PG & PL did, but for the Eastern Church Fathers, by providing a comprehensive collection of their writings in Syriac, Armenian, Arabic, Coptic, Ge’ez, Georgian, and Slavonic. Usually translations are given in a parallel column in Latin, English, Italian or French. The main editorial language in the volumes is French.
The project began in 1897 as the Patrologia Syriaca with two volumes, but was discontinued in its original form and replaced by the Patrologia Orientalis, its first volume being published in 1904. The series began with liturgical texts that touch on hagiography. Since then critical editions of the Bible, theological works, homilies and letters have been published.
