Allan B. Wolter (†2006) was an American, Franciscan, John Duns Scotus (d. 1308) scholar and professor of philosophy. He provided a medium-level proof for God in the scholastic tradition from the existence (or possibility) of transient being, or change, which starting premise is undeniable.
The proof follows his (also arguably undeniable) 69 conclusions respecting reality, which metaphysical conclusions are very valuable in their own right. Upon them, the existence of only one infinitely perfect, omniscient and omnipotent, uncaused personal being necessarily follows, whom we call God.
Fentiman has written an introduction to the proof which will be helpful in understanding it; he also in short space gives reasons and defends that the nature of things is objective and that God can be proven in a linear fashion therefrom.
Metaphysics is the study of being, which may be profitable to all of us. Up your level in taking a look and assure your faith in God’s eternal, necessary existence as ultimate reality, He being more sure than the reality surrounding us, or our own existence.
