Professing Christians are Externally in Covenant with God
Anthony Burgess, a Westminster divine, helpfully shows from scripture that in professing faith, one is externally entering into God’s Covenant of Grace in scripture. Oh how seriously should we take our dealings with God and live up to the profession of God’s Name that we take up in our mouths!
John 3:16, God’s love for Mankind in the Free Offer of the Gospel
Here are 50+ historic theologians (most of whom held to Limited Atonement) who take a Sincere Free Offer view of John 3:16, that it speaks of God’s love for mankind in offering them salvation through the death of Christ, not desiring that any of them perish. Do note Calvin, Matthew Henry, Herman Bavinck, etc.

Self-Examination
We have a new page on Self-Examination. It is in the day of small things right now, but we will be adding to it as the days go by. Of special note is Matthew Henry’s very helpful outline of self-examination he put to himself before his ordination. Oh that we would all have such hearts before the Lord!
The Antichrist
We made a new page demonstrating that the Papacy is the Antichrist, in line with the whole of the Protestant Reformation and the Westminster Confession (1646).
For a brief exposition of this, see Malcom Watt’s short article. For a fuller defense of this teaching, see the Free Church of Scotland minister, J.A. Wylie’s short book: ‘The Papacy is the Antichrist’.
Also, we have updated our Eschatology page with the works of E.B Elliot, who wrote the foundational historicist commentary on Revelation in the mid-1800’s. Do enjoy!
