“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said?…”
Gen. 3:1
“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to… birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things… who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator.”
Rom. 1:22-25
“Keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding… oppositions of science falsely so called: which some professing have erred concerning the faith.”

van Mastricht, Peter – ‘Do All Men Owe their Origin to the One Adam?’ in Theoretical-Practical Theology (RHB), vol. 3, ch. 9, section 13
“The philosophers, among whom was Aristotle, because being devoid of revelation, they could not reach to the first man, thought of an infinite subordination of men, and at the same time, of the eternity of the world. Democritus is reported to have stated that men crawled forth from the earth like maggots. Epicurus said that man was a composite of the fortuitous confluence of atoms, and in addition that
they arose from the earth like fungi, and are daily animated by the certain position of the stars. Paracelsus [d. 1541], besides the human posterity of Adam, numbered four other non-Adamic races of men, and assigned them to each of the elements…”

Budziszewski, J. – ‘What makes Men Men?’, pt. 1 (2019)
“…consider the selection pressures which operated during his presumed rise from the apes…
The first [problem] is that on this hypothesis, the only genes that are consistently passed on are the ones for traits which have adaptive value. But obviously this isn’t so. Tell me the adaptive value in seeking to know the meaning of life, or in the ability to be awed, humbled, and transported by the music of J.S. Bach.
One eminent sociobiologist claims that we have genes for believing in God, which are adaptive because belief in God unites the social group. Apparently no one told him that believing different things about God can tear the group apart. Besides — why not just have genes for social unity?”

On Theistic Evolution
Theistic Evolution is the belief that God (Theos) providentially guided the process of Evolution, bringing it about. Sometimes proponents of the view critique evolution by chance, but then affirm that the intervention of God overcomes the improbabilities of chance. The view still remains incompatible with the Genesis account.
