Great news again! All the published (and pricey) volumes of the whole Bible commentary of the puritan Cotton Mather (i.e. most of them) have been put under a Creative-Commons License by the publisher and are now free online. This was the first Bible commentary printed on American soil:
Mather, Cotton – Biblia Americana: America’s First Bible Commentary: A Synoptic Commentary on the Old & New Testaments, vol. 1 (Gen), 2 (Ex-Dt), 3 (Josh-Chron), 4 (Ezr-Ps), 5 (Pro-Jer), 6, 7, 8 (Jn-Acts), 9 (Rom-Phile), 10 (Heb-Rev) ed. Reiner Smolinski (1693-1728; Mohr Siebeck & Baker Academic, 2010)
The first volume has introductory material to the whole work. These volumes have been given a permanent home on the Whole Bible Commentaries page. Enjoy!
